Soil Testing
We perform a pH test that chemically tests your soil for pH and calcium levels. While performing the test, our technician observes soil characteristics that have to do with water penetration, and the physical nature of the soil. To accurately determine how much organic material, sand, silt, and clay you have in the soil, do the shaker-jar test. We provide both pvc pipes and jars for your testing.
Soil pH is very important for the health of your plants. pH affects how many nutrients are available to your plants.

pH Test
To get an accurate reading on your pH test, take a 1" pvc pipe and drive it into the ground about 6-8 inches for turf and flowerbeds and about a foot for trees. Pull pipes out of ground and label from where you took them. We do five samples for free, anything over five is $4.25 per sample. It takes twenty-four hours to run the test. When you bring in the sample(s), you will be asked to fill out the top portion of a soil lab report form. On the top portion there are questions about the accurate square footage of the area, types of plants, turf, and trees, as well as the problems you are having. Also, bring in a sample of the troubled plant.
Shaker Jar Test
Take a clear glass jar with a lid and fill half (½) full with water and a quarter (¼) full with your soil. Put the lid on the jar and shake it. Let the jar sit and bring in the jar with the settled soil.
