10-10-10 Super Ten
10-10-10 ("Super 10") is ideal for trees (oak and olive trees are exceptions; use 0-10-10 instead), but it can also be used on lawns and in flowerbeds. Super 10 is unique in that it has our highest concentration of iron in a fertilizer at 10%. 10-10-10 contains 1/2 slow-release nitrogen and 10% non-staining sucrated iron and is blended with potassium sulfate rather than potassium chloride.

The Professional's Choice
10 - 10 - 10 + 10% Iron Sucrate
"Super 10"
No Chlorides -- Chloride Salt Free
10-10-10 with iron sucrate supplies iron in a form that is non-staining under normal circumstances. It provides iron in a readily available form, replenishing this valuable micronutrient in soils where iron has been leached out or consumed by the normal growth of plants. It is an excellent fertilizer that has no equals when used in the following situations:
- As a pre-plant for turf, shurbs, palms, roses, ornamentals, and all types of trees
- As an ornamental, ground cover, and tree maintenance fertilizer
- As a total garden fertilizer
Pre-Plant for Lawns, Shrubs, Roses, Ornamentals, and Trees
For lawns, apply 10-15 lbs. per 1,000 sq. ft. before seeding or sodding. Incorporate into the top 1" of soil by light raking. A second application can be made in eight weeks or you could switch to "Ultra Turf" (16-8-8) for your maintenance fertilizer. When planting shurbs and roses, work six rounded tablespoons into the soil at the bottom of the hole before planting. For ornamentals, broadcast 1½ to 2 lbs./100 sq. ft. of planting area.
Ornamental, Shrub, Rose, and Ornamental Maintenance Fertilizer
For ornamentals and groundcovers, broadcast 1½ to 2 lbs./100 sq. ft. When fertilizing shrubs and roses, use ½ to 1 cup per plant (lower rate for 3' or less of height, higher rate for plants over 3' high) and incorporate into soil around base of plant. Repeat application every eight weeks through the growing season. Wash pellets off foliage; water thoroughly after each application.
Total Garden Fertilizer
To apply as a side dressing, evenly spread 2 lbs. down each 100 ft. of row. For individual (mature) plants, apply 4 level tablespoons per plant and water to dissolve granules. When fertilizing group plantings, broadcast 1½ to 2 lbs./100 sq. ft. of space. Water thoroughly after applications.
Maintenance Tree Fertilizer
Trees should be fed at least once a year, preferably in early spring. They can, however, be fertilized year-round with excellent benefits. Since only nitrogen travels more than one inch in the soil, proper fertilization of trees involves making holes in the ground and placing the fertilizer 12" into the soil. For specific instructions, see our handout on tree fertilization.
Precautions
Never apply fertilizers to dry soil. Never apply when the blades of the grass are wet unless you can water immediately after your application, especially on hot days. Under normal circumstances, iron sucrate is non-staining. However, keep out of pools and sweep off sidewalks before applying water.
